Member, AIFC Legal Advisory Council; Senior Partner at Michelmores
Andrew Oldland QC has been a Member of the AIFC Legal Advisory Council from its creation in the beginning of 2017.
Andrew is the Senior Partner of the law firm Michelmores LLP. He is the first barrister to hold this role within a Top 100 law firm.
Andrew specializes in financial regulation, financial crime and consequent litigation. His broader regulatory experience includes competition law, data protection and directors' duties. Although his practice comprises both non-contentious and contentious work, Andrew has particular expertise in enforcement proceedings by regulators against firms and individuals. His financial crime practice focuses on corruption, money laundering, market manipulation and insider dealing.
Andrew was previously standing counsel to the UK HM Revenue and Customs and a member of the 'A' lists of counsel in the UK for both the Attorney-General and Serious Fraud Office.
Andrew became a Queen's Counsel in 2011 and sits as a judge (Recorder) in both the civil and criminal UK courts.
