Relationship Manager for CIS in ITFC
Anvar is Relationship Manager for Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) at the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC). His recent deal in Uzbekistan to finance Small and Medium Enterprises in partnership with banks was judged as Deal of the Year 2018 by independent panel of experts of Islamic Finance News. At ITFC, he is responsible for implementing ITFC’s strategies for market penetration and deal generation in CIS and managing client relationships first hand and overseeing implementation of the upstream investment process. This includes identifying prospective clients, evaluating their associated risks and structuring deals for trade finance. He promotes Islamic Trade Finance in the region by organizing capacity building workshops and trainings.
Prior to joining ITFC, he worked in the Islamic Development Bank (multilateral development bank based in Saudi Arabia), United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (Switzerland), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (Switzerland), as well as other international development organizations dealing with developmental issues, trade facilitation and policies.
He obtained master’s degree from Graduate Institution of International and Development Studies (University of Geneva) in International Affairs with focus on Investment and Trade Integration in 2008. He completed training programme of International Chamber of Commers in Global Trade and holds Islamic Banking Certification of CIBAFI.
